Why Have a Vow Renewal Ceremony?

Couples decide to renew their vows for many different reasons:

  • You want to commemorate a special wedding anniversary. Ten, 20, 30, 50. The number doesn’t matter. What truly matters is that you’re still together after all these years!
  • If you eloped when you were younger, you may not have had the time or money to throw a big wedding celebration. Well, now’s your chance!
  • Or it could be the opposite… You had a huge wedding celebration before, and it didn’t really feel like “you”. Now you want to have a private ceremony, surrounded by only your closest family and friends. You can do that too!
  • A lot of covid couples didn’t get to plan the wedding of their dreams due to social distancing regulations. On their first, second, or third wedding anniversary, they may choose to have a vow renewal ceremony in place of the wedding they didn’t get to have.
  • Some couples decide to have a vow renewal ceremony after they surpass a difficult challenge in their marriage. A separation, a serious illness, military leave, or maybe they’ve grown apart after having children. Whatever the case, they made it through. And now they’ve made the decision to commit to each other once again. Why not celebrate that commitment?

There is no wrong reason to have a vow renewal ceremony! If you’re considering renewing your vows, just do it! You’ll be glad you did.

Planning a Vow Renewal in Punta Cana

Planning a vow renewal ceremony in Punta Cana is a lot like planning a wedding, without all the pressure, stress, and tradition that a typical wedding entails. This is a chance for you to do things differently than you did the first time. And now you can celebrate on your own terms.

Put your budget towards the things that are important to you. And skip the things that no longer matter. Maybe you didn’t get to hire a videographer the first time around. Or you want to splurge on your photographer and get glamorous photos on the beach with your loved ones. This is your chance!

What about your wedding dress? Does it still fit? Or do you want to go in a completely different direction? You don’t even have to wear white if you don’t want to. This time, it’s completely up to you! So be you!

How about your wedding vows? I love it when couples re-read their original wedding vows. It can be an incredibly emotional experience. Or you may laugh out loud at all the things you considered important to your marriage way back when. Also, don’t be afraid to write new vows – taking into consideration everything you now know about each other.

This is a new chapter in your lives. Cherish all the memories you have together, and look brightly on your future together. Don’t let these little moments pass you by.

Anu & Rajiv’s Vow Renewal at Jellyfish

Anu and Rajiv celebrated their vow renewal in Punta Cana surrounded by family. It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony on the beach. The best part about it? Anu had no idea she was renewing her vows until she arrived at Jellyfish! Her husband planned the whole thing as a surprise! Isn’t that the sweetest thing?

We’re so glad he did because it was a stunning vow renewal ceremony. There were lots of hugs, kisses, laughter, and happy tears. As they said their new vows to one another, the full moon began to rise over the ocean. What a sight to see! It was the perfect evening.
