Are you considering having a wedding at Sanctuary Cap Cana? Maybe you’ve already secured the venue, but you’re looking for some wedding and decor inspiration. Or are you simply here to check out our wedding photography? Whatever the reason, you’ve come to the right place, and I’m glad you’re here!

We’re going to talk a little bit about Sanctuary Cap Cana and their Blue Marlin restaurant for weddings, and then I’ll show you a sneak peek from Elizabeth and Lenny’s wedding album.

If you’re just here for the photos, feel free to scroll on through. Otherwise, I hope you’ll stick around to read a word or two and to find some helpful info for your own destination wedding in Punta Cana!

Now, let’s get started!

Sanctuary Cap Cana

Prepare for a relaxing, luxurious experience at this gorgeous 5-star resort in Punta Cana. Sanctuary Cap Cana is an adults-only resort located within a gated community, only about 15 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. It’s one of the most exclusive areas in Punta Cana, and you’ll feel like you’re in paradise from the moment you arrive.

Sanctuary Cap Cana is a unique resort unlike any other in the area. Of course, it’s all inclusive and you’ll have beautiful swimming pools and the beach, but the main factor that sets this resort apart is the architecture. Sanctuary Cap Cana is built in an old Spanish-Colonial style, with beautiful stucco walls and clay roof tiles. It seriously looks like a castle! And who wouldn’t want to get married at a castle?

With clean, spacious rooms, top-notch service, and good food (for resort standards) I’d say this is a great option for your destination wedding in Punta Cana. You and your guests will be able to enjoy every luxury the resort has to offer. Like 24-hour room service, six swimming pools (including one saltwater pool), and unlimited food and drinks.

Want to plan something extra during your wedding week? Take a stroll through Sanctuary Town where you’ll find plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars. Or treat yourself and your wedding crew to a relaxing massage at the spa. You deserve it! Feeling more adventurous? Head to the Scape Park just a few minutes away to go ziplining, cave diving, and so much more!

Blue Marlin Restaurant

Blue Marlin is the seafood restaurant at Sanctuary Cap Cana. It’s a bright turquoise Palapa, with a palm-thatched roof that sits on top of the water, overlooking the ocean. Yes, you can actually get married on the ocean! It’s truly a magical location for a wedding at Sanctuary Cap Cana.

Not only do you have the covered roof (so you’re protected from the heat of the sun or from the rain) but you also have a hard-wood floor so you can walk down the aisle with ease – in any shoes you want! Your guests will thank you for the protection since it won’t be quite so hot under the palapa, and there’s usually a nice breeze that flows through it, too. Not to mention those gorgeous views!

Blue Marlin is lovely on its own, but add in some personalized wedding decor to make it feel extra special.

Elizabeth and Lenny chose white chivari chairs, white flowers paired with monstera leaves and greenery, and a golden hexagon as their wedding arch. It looked amazing! Just take a look:

Elizabeth and Lenny’s Wedding at Sanctuary Cap Cana

When I tell you these two know how to have fun, it’s a bit of an understatement. They really know how to party! First of all, Elizabeth’s “gift” to Lenny in his getting ready was to ice him. You know what that is, right? When you hide a Smirnoff Ice and the person who finds it has to drop down on one knee and chug the entire thing. Yeah, that!

So that’s how they started their wedding day… And the fun only continued throughout the day and into the wee hours of the night. With some hilarious speeches and some even better dance moves, everyone was having a blast during the reception.

Of course, there were some emotional moments, too. Weddings tend to bring out all of our emotions. So Elizabeth and Lenny were both crying during the first look, and there were many tears shed during the ceremony and the reception, too. But overall, they were joking, laughing, and fully enjoying their wedding day!

After months of planning, not to mention planning a wedding during a pandemic, they deserved to have an amazing time! All of their guests deserved it. too. And we’re so glad we got to be a small part of their love story!
