Kassie and Benjamin’s wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana was simple, intimate, and oh so romantic! I’ll tell you all about their wedding a little later on because first I want to tell you about this resort. That way you can decide if it’s the right wedding destination for you. So let’s get started!

Where is Paradisus Punta Cana?

Paradisus Punta Cana is located on the beautiful white sand beaches of Bavaro, about 25 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. (You can check out prices for a taxi from the airport here.) It sits right in between Cortesito Beach and White Sands Beach and is in a popular tourist area, surrounded by other all-inclusive resorts, bars, and nightclubs.

The beach at Paradisus Punta Cana is so dreamy! It’s wide, spacious, and lined with palm trees. It looks like it’s straight from a postcard… And maybe it is!

But the beach is not even the best part of this resort. I’m completely obsessed with the gardens!

The Gardens at Paradisus Punta Cana

The gardens at Paradisus Punta Cana are absolutely breathtaking! Lush greenery and bright, vibrant flowers cover the entire resort, and they’re all very well kept. There are lots of ponds with fish, turtles, and even flamingos! You can tell that they put a lot of time and dedication to maintaining the grounds. It’s honestly one of the most beautiful resorts for this reason.

And did I mention that the gardens are absolutely amazing for photos?! There are so many hidden corners and different spaces to use for the perfect backdrops. And the lighting is magical! It’s the perfect spot for a first look, couple’s photo session, or a proposal. I just love it!

What It’s Like to Stay at Paradisus Punta Cana

When you first arrive, you’ll feel like the resort is huge! But don’t worry! They have so many little paths to take you through the property and exactly where you need to go. The beach is about a 10-15 minute walk from the lobby, and there’s a buggy that can take you there as well. I definitely recommend the walk though, as the property is gorgeous. And it’s always well lit so it’s safe to walk through any time of day or night.

If you don’t feel like walking, you can rent a bicycle for free and bike around the property instead. There are parking stations throughout the resort to make it super simple too!

Compared to some other resorts in the area, I’d say the food at Paradisus Punta Cana is just okay. With 2 buffets and 4 a la carte restaurants, there are a lot of options to choose from, which is great! But if you’re a serious foodie, this resort probably isn’t for you. I would recommend the Japanese restaurant, Bana, for some decent food and an entertaining teppanyaki show. Fuego is another good restaurant if you’re not worried about eating raw fish like ceviche, sashimi, and tartar.

If you have Royal Service or don’t mind paying a little more, head to La Palapa on the beach. They have the best food at the resort, and it’s a lot quieter and more intimate than the buffets or other restaurants. And definitely grab a drink on the beach at Gabi Beach Bar. You’ll have an amazing view!

The rooms are clean and spacious, but the entire resort is a little outdated. You won’t find the most modern furniture or feel that really “fancy” ambiance that you’ll find in other resorts in Punta Cana.

That being said, one of my favorite parts about Paradisus Punta Cana is the pool! It’s absolutely huge! And you’ll always be able to find a lounge chair nearby or head to the swim-up bar if that’s more your style. If you’re laidback and like to spend most of your vacation by the pool or at the beach, you’re going to enjoy this property!

A great offer to consider at the resort is that when your group books more than 15 rooms for 3+ nights, Paradisus Punta Cana offers you a complimentary wedding ceremony package. Just be advised that the cocktail hour and reception are not included in that offer, so look into all of your options to compare before booking.

The resort will pair you with a Romance Specialist to help you organize every little detail of your special day.

Although I should warn you… most resort wedding planners are difficult to get in contact with and slow to reply. This might not be an issue for you as many brides love their resort wedding planner! But if this sounds like your biggest nightmare, consider having your wedding at an outside venue instead where you’ll definitely have better communication. (Plus you won’t have to deal with vendor fees to bring in your favorite photographer 😉 )

Now let me tell you about Kassie and Benjamin’s wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana, and then I’ll show you some photos from the big day so you can really get a feel for the resort and their weddings.

Kassie & Benjamin’s Wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana

Kassie and Benjamin had an intimate wedding at Paradisus Punta Cana on January 6th, 2020. They had 20 guests total with 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen. The girls went barefoot for the day, and I absolutely love that! It’s perfect for a beach wedding. I mean, who doesn’t love sinking their toes in the sand? Plus there’s no need to worry about tripping down the aisle, walking in heels, or having sore feet all day. Barefoot is the way to go!

Kassie and Benjamin had a first look in the garden nearby Kassie’s room. Remember how I said before that the gardens at Paradisus Punta Cana are amazing? I meant it! So this was the perfect spot for the first look! It’s private. Intimate. And oh so beautiful!

The first look is always an emotional moment for the bride and groom. Benjamin just couldn’t contain his tears when he saw his stunning bride for the first time. We took a few photos in the gardens (because well, the lighting between the palm trees was amazing!), and then we headed towards the beach for their ceremony.

Even though it was a very cloudy day, it was still wonderful! You never know what to expect when a friend or family member officiates the wedding ceremony, but Kassie’s mother performed it with beauty and grace. She kept all of the guests’ attention and even brought the couple to tears a few times.

They said their I Do’s, exchanged rings, and sealed the deal with an amorous kiss. After some emotional hugs from family and friends and a quick champagne toast, it was time for the fun to begin! And man do these guys know how to have fun! They were constantly making jokes, laughing with each other, and just being silly. It was a great time!

Their reception was held on the beach under the palm trees and twinkling stars, with the ocean just beside them. They really let nature do the talking, only adding some string lights and white patterned tablecloths as their decor. It’s a good reminder that you don’t have to go crazy with the expensive, extravagant decor to have a beautiful reception. Check out the photos from their special day below to see exactly what I’m talking about.
