If you’re thinking of having a beautiful Hilton La Romana wedding, you’ve come to the right place! We love this resort! And I know you will too.

Where is Hilton La Romana Located?

Hilton La Romana (formally Dreams La Romana) gets its name because it’s located next to the city of La Romana in the Dominican Republic.
It’s about 50 minutes drive from the Punta Cana International Airport (and another 15-20 from Bavaro). This amazing resort gets its name from the city, but the actual location is much more interesting. Because just outside of La Romana is a quaint little town called Bayahibe.

Imagine a small fishing town. Slowly populated by French and Italian families. With an incredible coast of the Caribbean Sea and lots of yummy restaurants with all sorts of different food. That is Bayahibe! An amazing beach, delicious food, beautiful boats, and just the perfect location for a relaxing vacation or destination wedding.

I know you are probably thinking: Why would I care about the Italian and French restaurants if I will be staying at an all-inclusive resort? The great thing about staying in Hilton La Romana is that you can walk into town from the beach of the resort. You might not go every day, but you definitely have to see it at least once! No need to take taxis, or bargain with the taxi drivers. The town is so small that you can walk your way through it!

The resort shares the shore with a public beach. It is on the left side when facing the ocean. And this is the best place in the entire town to eat fresh fish with tostones (fried plantains) and to get to know a bit of the Dominican culture.

You are also in the perfect place to visit the islands of Catalina and Saona! Both are only just a boat ride away. And of course, you are also much closer to the amazing Altos de Chavon! A place we absolutely love!

Resort Facilities at Hilton La Romana

The resort itself is a quiet and family-friendly place with all kinds of activities for guests. Especially guests with children. The beach is spectacular, and the wedding ceremony locations are even better!

The rooms are nice and clean, but you might find that some are newer than others in terms of decoration. Particularly when it comes to the patterns on couches, curtains, rugs, etc.. The rooms have really amazing light to take wedding photos as well as interesting textures, which is all a good wedding photographer really needs.

Hilton La Romana Wedding Gazebos

There are a few spots to hold your ceremony and they are all quite close to one another.

The first one is a white gazebo right next to the ocean. It looks amazing because it has an interesting shape and beautiful background.
The others are wooden gazebos in the same area that have the same characteristics. The last gazebo to the right (when facing the ocean) is the most secluded and the most intimate. Therefore, that is our favorite!

That is where Molly and Ryan decided to have their wedding ceremony, and it couldn’t have been better!

The thing we love most about the Hilton La Romana is that all the wedding gazebos are private and the coast behind them is made of coral and rocks. You might think this is not a good thing, but this particular aspect is what makes it the best place to have a ceremony. Why? Because nobody will be walking behind it or staring at you from the beach and trying to get a picture from the distance.

You can forget about the snoopy tourists taking photos of you and your loved ones (and we can forget about all that photoshop to get rid of them in your wedding photos!)

After the ceremony, there are a lot of beautiful spots to get photos with family and friends and for the newlywed’s session. Great location, great light, great backgrounds, amazing wedding photos! And no people!

Just have a look at this beautiful wedding and you will see what we mean!
