Where is Dreams La Romana Located?
Dreams La Romana gets its name because it is located next to the city of La Romana in the Dominican Republic.
About 50 minutes drive from the Punta Cana International Airport and another 15-20 from Bavaro, this amazing resort might get its name from the city but the actual location is actually much more interesting.
Imagine a small fishing town, slowly populated by French and Italian families that have an incredible coast in the Caribbean Sea and lots of yummy restaurants where you can eat all sorts of food. That is Bayahibe. Food, amazing beach, boats and just the perfect location for a relaxed vacation.
I know you are probably thinking why would I care about the Italian and French restaurants if I will be staying at an all-inclusive resort? The great thing about staying in Dreams La Romana is that you can walk into town from the beach of the resort and you might not go every day, but you definitely have to see it at least once! No need to take taxis, bargain with the taxi drivers, the town is so small that you can walk your way through it!
The resort shares the shore with a public beach, it is on the left side when facing the ocean and this is the best place in the entire town to eat a fresh fried fish with tostones and get to know a bit of the Dominican culture.
You are also in the perfect place to visit the islands of Catalina and Saona, only just a boat ride away. And of course, you are also much closer to the amazing Altos de Chavon, a place we absolutely love!
The resort itself is a quiet and family friendly place where you have any kind of activities for guests and especially guests with children. The beach is spectacular and the ceremony locations are even better!
The rooms are nice and clean but you might find that some are newer than others in terms of decoration and use of fabric for couches, curtains, etc. They have really amazing light to take wedding photos and interesting textures, which is all a good wedding photographer needs.
Dreams La Romana Wedding Gazebos
There are a few spots to hold your ceremony and they are all quite close from each other.
The first one is a white Gazebo right next to the ocean that looks amazing since it has an interesting shape and great background.
The others are wooden gazebos in the same area that have the same characteristics. The last Gazebo to the right (when facing the ocean) is the most secluded and intimate one, therefore our favorite.
This is where Molly and Ryan decided to have their ceremony and it couldn’t have been better!
The thing we love about this Dreams Resort more than anything is that all Wedding Gazebos are in a private placement of the hotel grounds and the coast behind them is made of coral and rocks. You might think this is not so good, but this particular aspect is what makes it the best place to have a ceremony. Why? Because nobody will be walking behind it or staring at you from the beach and trying to get a picture from the distance.
You can forget about the snoopy tourists taking photos of you and your loved ones and we can forget about all that photoshop getting rid of them in your wedding photos!
After the ceremony, there are a lot of beautiful spots to get photos with family and friends and the newlywed’s session. Great location, great light, great backgrounds, amazing wedding photos! And no people!
Just have a look at this beautiful wedding and you will see!
