When it comes to destination weddings, the Dominican Republic’s pristine beaches and turquoise waters offer an idyllic backdrop for the celebration of love. Recently, our photography team had the privilege of capturing Elizabeth and Enrique’s enchanting wedding at Finest Punta Cana. I invite you to join me on a journey of their special day, and I’ll also share some of my insights into this resort. Get ready to be swept away by the magic!

Discover Paradise at Finest Punta Cana

Nestled on the stunning shores of Uvero Alto in Punta Cana, Finest is a five-star, all-inclusive resort that embodies elegance, luxury, and romance. This place has it all: Massive grounds that you could get lost in (in a good way!). Architecture that’s like something out of a dream. And amenities that’ll make you feel like royalty. It’s the ultimate pick if you want to turn your wedding into a tropical fairytale!

Finest Punta Cana has two sides to the resort: For an adults-only celebration, you can join the Excellence Club, and if you’re bringing the fam along, the Finest Club is where it’s at. Either way, you’ll get access to exclusive bars, restaurants, pools, and your own piece of paradise on the beach.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfy. If you can swing it, book a suite with an ocean view. Trust me, waking up to that view is worth every penny! Then be sure to check out the 13 restaurants, 9 bars (yes, you read that right!), and 2 food trucks. And hey, it’s vacation time, so don’t be shy about indulging a little!

Afterward, if you’re feeling like you need to work off those tropical cocktails and decadent meals, Finest Punta Cana has your back. There’s a killer gym, a basketball court, a tennis court, and even a soccer field if you’re up for some friendly competition. But hey, if you’d rather soak up the sun and let the awesome wait staff take care of you by the pool, that sounds just as nice!

Speaking of the resort staff:

They’re accommodating and friendly. And they’ve got a knack for making you laugh and keeping you entertained. During your wedding week, that’s all you can really hope for, right?

Plan your Wedding at Finest Punta Cana

This resort is a great option for couples looking to host a small, intimate wedding. Their pre-made packages start as low as $850 for up to 10 people (including the bride and groom) and increase in price up to $2,400 for up to 20 guests. The packages include some basics (which vary based on the package you choose) and then you customize them from there to create your vision. You can also invite more guests to celebrate your day with you for an additional charge.

The resort will pair you with an on-site wedding coordinator who will help you iron out all the details.

Just be advised:

Resort wedding planners are not the best communicators. They’re really slow to respond, and they tend to make the wedding planning process more stressful because you can’t get answers to the questions you have. Plus, there are a lot of hidden fees that they might not tell you about upfront. Now, they do a great job when the wedding day comes around, but it is something to be mindful of before booking and something to be prepared for throughout the process.

Now back to planning your wedding at Finest Punta Cana:

For your wedding ceremony, you’ll have the option to host it at the beach, the stone gazebo, or the rooftop terrace. Then you can choose the beach, plaza, or a ballroom for your wedding reception. All of the locations are beautiful so you can’t go wrong either way. They also have an adorable bridal suite which is an awesome place to get ready for the day.

Resort Wedding Photography

Most of the pre-made wedding packages include a couple of photos or a short video from your wedding day. Usually it is only offered for the ceremony, and then they’ll give you an option to book a larger package with their on-site photographer.

I will always recommend a larger package – whether you book with us, with the on-site team, or if you bring a photographer from home. Your wedding day is more than just the ceremony! And I have to say, 5-10 photos from your ceremony is definitely not enough to capture all those memories!

You deserve to have photos getting ready with your closest girls and of your groom getting ready with his guys. You also can’t skip the romantic photos of the two of you. Those are the ones you’ll want to print and frame around the house. And you can’t miss out on all of the special moments from the reception like your first dance as husband and wife, your parent dances, and you and all your guests busting a move on the dance floor. You’ve gotta get that on film! (Okay, no one uses film anymore, but you get my point.)

Hire a professional wedding photographer to capture all of the special moments from your big day. You won’t regret it!

Elizabeth & Enrique’s Wedding at Finest Punta Cana

Now, it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for! It’s time to see more wedding photos from Enrique and Elizabeth’s day. I know that’s why you’re really here anyway. So let me just give you a few details about their day.

They held their ceremony right on the beach, looking out onto the gorgeous turquoise water. It started at 5pm, which is a great ceremony time for a summer wedding. The lighting was spectacular!

Elizabeth looked gorgeous and she had a beautiful, classic-style bouquet overflowing with white flowers and greenery. You could see Enrique’s heart melt as he saw her walking down the aisle. You could see their love for each other throughout the day.

They held their reception in the ballroom, and it was a blast! All of their guests were dancing, laughing, and enjoying the night. Plus, the couple brought out LED foam sticks which was a fun, personal touch to end the night.
