Royalton Punta Cana is a great all-inclusive resort located in the Bavaro area. It is right next to Memories Splash Punta Cana and the Majestic Resorts. Only 20 minutes away from the airport and not too far from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Even though it is not the most known resort, Royalton has become one of our favorite resorts to go for weddings. And there isn’t just one reason, there are a few…let me tell you what they are:
- The resort is brand new
Now, this might seem not important, but having done weddings in most of the resorts around the area, we think this is a big plus.
Doing getting ready’s at the rooms is a pleasure because the furniture is new and modern, the textures are perfect for photos of details, the colors are light, and the feel of the decoration in general is nice, clean and very photogenic.
- The beach has a perfect sunset
We love sunsets, who doesn’t love sunsets? Just like some of the resorts in the area like the Majestic Resorts, Royalton has that perfect beach sunset. The colors are beautiful, the beach is beautiful and with this combination, we can do some really awesome photos with our couples.
- The Backup Ceremony is actually really good
It was pouring down, cats and dogs, you name it. The day of Ryan’s and Adrienne’s wedding was a rainy one for sure. We waited until last minute to see if the rain would stop, and unfortunately, it didn’t. But the backup set up for the ceremony was actually very good. It was very intimate, with lots of natural light (which is very very important) and located on a second floor, quite close to the main lobby.
- Best SPA ever…seriously
This is very important for us and we know it is probably important for you too. Not only the hair and makeup are done by professionals the place is gorgeous! Now, this might not be so important for you, but it’s definitely for us! The lighting is incredibly flattering for bridal portraits (which we love), the furniture, walls, lamps and overall decoration is spectacular and we didn’t want to leave this room, ever. It was that good.
- The Food
Ok, so this one is not related to weddings directly, buuut if you think about it, you will have to eat the week you come to Punta Cana. And your guests will have to eat too right? And you wouldn’t want your guests or yourself to be unhappy right? Then it is definitely related to weddings! The food is seriously the best food we have tried in all of the resorts in the Dominican Republic. Not only because of it’s taste, but it’s presentation too. The buffet felt like a great restaurant, with lots of options and unexpected dishes like buffalo mozzarella with tomato, fresh basil, and olive oil or 5 different kinds of pie or (and this was the best one) the chocolate fountain with marshmallows. Ok, so that was for the kids, but all the other adults were getting some of those marshmallows too!
- The Beach Gazebo
After the rain stopped at Adrienne and Ryan’s Wedding, we went to the beach to get some nice photos of them and the bridal party.
We weren’t able to use the Gazebo for their ceremony but we did use it for the photo shoot and it is so beautiful! We have seen it decorated for other beach weddings and it is just stunning surrounded by palm trees and with the ocean background.
It is a wooden structure with a wooden path, so if you were thinking of wearing those heels this could be your place!
There are other locations of course. You can get married on the beach itself or if you have a smaller list of guests there is the option to set up the ceremony in the middle of a pool!
Even though it was a rainy April day, (which happened to be my birthday too) everything turned out perfect for Adrienne and Ryan.
A few drops weren’t going to stop them from having fun and enjoying the day with their family and friends!
Have a look at their photos and see what I am talking about!
