If a traditional wedding just doesn’t seem right for you, an elopement in Punta Cana may be a better option.

The truth is, traditional weddings can be stressful. They’re not for everyone… especially these days when traveling can be so difficult. Eloping may seem like the easier choice. And you’re probably right! Eloping is a lot less stressful, and it’s easier on the purse strings. Plus, you’ll have more time for just the two of you.

If this seems like a dream come true, it’s probably time to consider an elopement in Punta Cana.

Down below I’ll share some of the best reasons to elope as well as a real-life elopement wedding at Kukua Beach Club. You won’t want to miss it!

What is Eloping?

Traditionally, couples would ditch their wedding plans and run away to get married without telling their parents, their families, or their friends. Nowadays, however, couples are choosing to elope with the support of their families and with a little more planning than simply running away together.

It’s not so much a secret as it is a private wedding event just for the bride and groom.

Why Do Couples Elope?

There are so many different reasons, it’s hard to pick just one.

Common reasons for eloping include:

  • Avoiding the stress of planning a big wedding
  • Due to financial reasons or to save money
  • The bride or groom doesn’t enjoy being the center of attention
  • They want to do something different
  • They want a more intimate event
  • They’ve postponed the wedding so many times that they just want to get married already

Do any of these reasons sound familiar to you? If so, you may want to consider an elopement. And why not head to the Dominican Republic to make it even more memorable?

Elopement in Punta Cana

If you value experiences over a big, traditional wedding, then eloping in Punta Cana is a wonderful option! You can tie your elopement together with your honeymoon and make one big trip out of it. And who doesn’t want to sip piña coladas in the Dominican sunshine on their honeymoon? I know I do!

Eloping in Punta Cana allows you to experience a warm vacation in a tropical paradise. Take long walks on the beach with your new husband. Have a romantic private dinner under the moonlight. Get a little steamy in your private jacuzzi. Or get a relaxing massage at the spa.

All of your worries can melt away like ice cream. You’ll get to enjoy some alone time with your partner, pamper yourselves, and fall in love all over again! Doesn’t it sound magical?

Okay, I’m getting lost dreaming about your vacation. But what about your elopement ceremony? Let me get back on track and tell you about one of the best wedding venues in Punta Cana!

Kukua Beach Club & Restaurant

Yes, it’s true. Kukua Beach Club is one of my favorite wedding venues in Punta Cana. I’m kind of obsessed… but they’re just so good at what they do! Amazing food, refreshing drinks, and a gorgeous venue. They’ve got it all! Whether you’re having a 100 person wedding or a private elopement with just the two of you, Kukua will not disappoint.

Rachel and Mayte are the dream wedding planning team! These ladies will take care of every little detail of planning and decorating your elopement ceremony in Punta Cana. If you want to go all out with dozens of tropical flowers, a live band, and a lobster dinner, they’ll make it happen. If you want to keep it simple, they’ll help you with that too. Share your ideas for your wedding vision and they’ll support you every step of the way.

Oh, and did I mention that Kukua is in the most beautiful location? Located right on a white-sand beach, overlooking the most gorgeous turquoise water, and surrounded by towering palm trees. You’ll fall in love with the venue right away!

Let’s take a look at a real elopement at Kukua Beach Club so you can see just what I’m talking about.

Real-Life Elopement in Punta Cana – Sarah & John

These two are the sweetest couple and it was so much fun planning their elopement! They had a beautiful ceremony on the beach at Kukua underneath a white canopy adorned with flowers. And you can’t miss the white rose-petal aisle runner. Did I already tell you Mayte is an incredible decorator? Well, I’ll tell you again because this setup was breathtaking!

Before the big day, Sarah reached out to us with all kinds of questions, from what shoes to wear to what extras we offer, and pretty much everything in between. I love working with brides like her! I could tell she was so excited about her elopement and genuinely curious about the possibilities.

She was open to suggestions and even ended up booking a trash the dress session at Macao Beach! (Hint: This is a great option if you want even more photos of the two of you!)

When the big day came, Sarah and John were all smiles!

While Sarah got ready in the bridal suite at Kukua, John enjoyed some free time in the pool. Just another amazing reason to elope in Punta Cana. Where else can you enjoy some pool time before your wedding ceremony?
