Calling all athletes at heart! Welcome to the first-ever TAN Resorts Marina Cap Cana resort! It’s a beautiful complex located on the inland Cap Cana Marina, one of the most elite areas in the Dominican Republic. Plus, it’s only 10 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport so it’s super easy to get to.

This resort is perfect for those competitive couples and families looking for an exciting vacation with lots to do. Unleash your competitive side with exclusive access to golf courses, tennis courts, and a fitness center. Imagine starting a bride vs. groom side volleyball tournament with all of your guests. Just make sure things don’t get too heated in the name of competition.

Feeling the need to relax and unwind? Head to the pristine beach at Juanillo Grill & Beach Club (just a short bus ride away) or dive into the amazing pool overlooking the marina. It’s the perfect spot to soak up the sun and enjoy the incredible views.

The villas at TAN Resorts Marina Cap Cana Resort offer stylish interiors and breathtaking views. The suites are all named after sports topics, making you feel like you’re always part of the action. Book the luxurious homerun suite for you and your groom to relax in luxury. Or if you’re traveling with kids, The Deuce, two-bedroom suite is heavenly!

Now be advised:

The resort is open, but it’s still in the transition phase from the previous owner, Ancora. For now, there aren’t as many activities, restaurants, and bars open as they have listed on their website and things still feel a little shaky. But I’m hoping they will get adjusted very soon and this will be a stellar property for a destination wedding!

Zel Punta Cana

Zel Punta Cana is a brand-new resort from Melia in partnership with tennis champion Rafael Nadal, and it is now open. It brings the Mediterranean-inspired Zel lifestyle brand, which debuted in Mallorca, to the Caribbean for the first time, set within the large Melia complex in the Punta Cana area.

The concept blends relaxed Mediterranean style with Caribbean surroundings: bright, design-forward spaces, fresh and healthy dining, and a laid-back beach-club feel. A real standout is the on-site Rafa Nadal tennis centre, so tennis fans and active travelers have plenty to do beyond the beach.

New Resorts in Miches & La Romana

If you’re looking for a new experience in the Dominican Republic, then I’d recommend one of these stellar resorts.

Miches is about an hour north of Punta Cana, and it is booming! It will soon be the biggest hotspot in the DR. These untouched, pristine beaches are going to take your breath away. And these unique resorts will give you the experience of a lifetime.

On the other hand, about an hour south of Punta Cana, you’ll be greeted by the gorgeous towns of La Romana, Bayahibe, and Casa de Campo.

There’s a brand new resort, Hilton Garden Inn La Romana, that is a nice spot for a simple and relaxing Caribbean vacation. This one’s not all-inclusive, but you can book with breakfast included. They do have an on-site restaurant and a poolside bar. (Note: If you love the Hilton brand, but want an all-inclusive vacation, Hilton La Romana is a great option! It’s not one of the new resorts in Punta Cana, but it’s a beautiful property.)

The Newest Openings (2025)

These are the newest additions to the area, and both have already opened their doors in 2025. If you want to stay somewhere brand new, take a look:

Now open: W Punta Cana opened in 2025 as W Hotels first adults-only all-inclusive.

Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton

Now open: Zemi Miches opened in 2025.

This 502-room resort opened in 2025 on the beautiful untouched coast of Playa Esmeralda in Miches. It is a family-friendly all-inclusive resort with a wide array of amenities and on-site entertainment.

It is the sixth Hilton hotel in the Dominican Republic and is included in its guest-loyalty program, Hilton Honors. It features 123 swim-up suites and 18 stand-alone beach bungalows. You won’t want to miss it!

Coming Soon to Punta Cana (2026)

Moon Palace Punta Cana

As of 2026 this resort is still being finished, with its opening expected in spring 2026.

This massive 2,000-room resort is set to open in spring 2026 on La Costa del Coco. It will be the largest resort in Punta Cana, topping the already gigantic 1,775-room Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The resort will have an astounding 18 stories, which will be the first hotel in Punta Cana to be built taller than the palm trees. (While this might sound odd, this is a very controversial thing to do on this part of the island.)

They will offer family-friendly accommodations with pools, bars, restaurants, and entertainment.
