You will be amazed to see your body go through incredible changes over these 9 months. They say pregnancy pushes the human body to its absolute limit of endurance, even more so than extreme athletes. I just want to say, wow–Women are so incredible! You Mama, deserve to be celebrated and honored for growing that baby inside of you! Needless to say, it’s no easy task, it is a mission, but also a beautiful journey that is worth documenting.

Babymoon in Punta Cana

Many couples choose to celebrate their pregnancy with a babymoon! Punta Cana is an excellent destination for this. Staying at an all-inclusive resort can help you relax and have a great time without worrying about cooking or cleaning. Most resorts have shuttle services inside so if your feet are swollen and your back is sore, you can catch a ride! And maybe, most importantly, almost all resorts offer excellent spa services so you can truly pamper yourself.

Another positive note about baby mooning in Punta Cana is that culturally, Dominicans love and adore pregnant women. Everyone will be willing to help you and prioritize your needs!

While you are here, why not book a maternity photoshoot with us? Picture your beautiful belly against a backdrop of turquoise water, lush palm trees, and sparkling sand, it’s gorgeous!

Maternity photos at Macao Beach

We do most of our photoshoots, including maternity, at Macao Beach!

Macao’s charm lies in its turquoise water, golden sand, and palm trees. It’s one of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful beaches. It’s perfect for your photoshoot backdrop!

If you’re concerned about leaving your resort, don’t worry! Macao is super safe and easy to reach. It’s a popular tourist spot with all the essentials – bathrooms, food vendors – to keep you comfortable while you are there..

We’ll either pick you up or sort out a taxi from your resort to Macao. The drive takes just 25 minutes or less from most Punta Cana resorts!

What to Wear in your Maternity Photoshoot

As you are packing your vacation bag you will need to plan what you are going to wear to your maternity photoshoot. Here are some tips!

  • Embrace flowy fabrics: Opt for maxi dresses, skirts, or blouses that drape softly over your curves. This creates a flattering silhouette and allows for gentle movement in the photos.
  • Light and airy: Lighter tones and pastels tend to photograph beautifully. Think whites, creams, soft blues, and lavenders. They enhance your natural glow and draw attention to your baby bump.
  • Pops of color: Don’t shy away from color entirely! A vibrant lipstick color or a subtle print can add personality to your outfit.
  • Bear the bump: I always love seeing women bear their bump proudly. If you are comfortable with this, you can opt for an outfit that shows some skin. A simple bathing suit and coverup look beautiful. You are at the beach after all!
  • Bring options: If you want some versatility in your photos, you can bring a few outfit options. You will have enough time during your photoshoot to change once or twice and mix it up! Just keep in mind, the beach we take you to is public so you may want to bring a towel to help you cover up between outfit changes.

Most importantly, choose something that makes you feel beautiful, confident, and comfortable.

One tip I like to share with expecting moms is to bring a copy of their ultrasound image or a baby item to add a personal touch to their photos.

The Best Time to Book your Maternity Photoshoot?

The best time to schedule your maternity photoshoot is early morning just after the sun rises or late afternoon as the sun is setting. These are the times when the sun is less intense and you will feel more comfortable. Nothing worse than overheating and sweating for your photoshoot under a blazing sun. You want to enjoy the experience!

Early morning photo shoots, beginning around 8-9am, are usually very sunny, so a little bit harder on the eyes, but colors are bright and vibrant. There are fewer people on the beach which makes for a more intimate photo session.

Afternoon photoshoots, beginning around 4-5pm, are when the light is softer and it’s easier to keep your eyes open, but colors are softer.

Both produce amazing photos! The photoshoot usually lasts 1 hour or a little longer. You can choose the time that feels right for you, when you have the most energy!
