It’s not often that we hold a family photoshoot at Hard Rock Punta Cana. Usually, we head to a beautiful beach nearby to take photos. But this photoshoot was different. News about the coronavirus was spreading fast. And everything and everyone was being affected. So we had to adjust from our normal routine and head to Hard Rock Punta Cana for the photoshoot.
Can You Take Photos Inside the Resort?
This is a question that we receive fairly often. And the answer will vary depending on your specific resort.
Some resorts charge a day pass for the photographer to be allowed inside. Others require you to pay a vendor fee. Some (like the Barcelo Bavaro Palace) don’t allow outside vendors at all.
As each resort is different, we recommend reaching out to your resort directly if this is something you’re interested in. If you have a big family or a large group, taking photos at your resort is usually the best option since you won’t have to worry about transportation.
In this case, (thankfully) the Hard Rock Punta Cana allowed us to take photos at the resort.
Hard Rock Punta Cana
Hard Rock Punta Cana is an amazing family-friendly resort in Punta Cana. You may think it is geared towards adults (because of the casino and Oro Nightclub), but this resort has so many activities for kids and teenagers, too.
First of all, you’ll have access to a beautiful, white sand beach and tons of different pools. The Family Pool has teen-friendly music, waterslides, and games/activities for kids under 16. And there’s a lazy river!
Oh, and did I mention… they also have mini-golf, arcade games, and a rock wall. Plus bicycles to rent and a basketball court.
Your family will never be bored at the Hard Rock Punta Cana!
Hard Rock Punta Cana is also an excellent place for a destination wedding. They are wedding pros! If you’re looking for a family-friendly resort to host your wedding, this option should be high up on your list. But enough about weddings, let’s get back to the family photoshoot at Hard Rock Punta Cana.
Family Photoshoot at Hard Rock Punta Cana
While this turned out to be a beautiful family photoshoot, it was definitely one of the most stressful to plan. The coronavirus had us all on our toes! And our plans were constantly changing as news about the virus continued to spread.
First, we had a plan to meet at Macao Beach for the photo session. After all, it is our favorite spot for photoshoots! But the day before we were scheduled to meet, the president issued a statement advising everyone to stay inside. Businesses and resorts were closing and hundreds of flights were scheduled for tourists to head home asap. We then received word that access to the beaches would be restricted… And we realized that Macao Beach would no longer be a viable option for the photoshoot.
So we had to come up with a new plan!
Thankfully, Karolina (the mom) spoke to the Hard Rock about the dilemma. And finally, she was able to book a day pass for the photographer. We were allowed to take photos at the resort!
And while it turned out to be a cloudy, rainy, stressful day, the family kept their spirits high. And the photos turned out beautifully. Take a look for yourself:
