You’ve probably heard all about the all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, but have you ever seen a wedding at Hilton La Romana? Just an hours drive from Punta Cana International Airport, you’ll find this beautiful resort waiting for you. And you’re sure to be blown away!

Below, I’ll tell you a little bit about this resort and what to expect when planning a wedding in the Dominican Republic. Finally, we’ll end with Jenna and Taylor’s wedding gallery so you can see a real-life wedding at Hilton La Romana.

From there, you’ll not only decide if this resort is a good fit for you. But you can also see a snapshot of our work as destination wedding photographers. If you feel a connection with what we do, we’d love to be there for you on your special day!

Now, let’s get to it!

Where is Hilton La Romana?

This stunning all-inclusive resort is located within the little town of Bayahibe on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. It’s a smaller, much quieter town than Punta Cana. But it definitely has its own charm.

Imagine a quaint fishing village with adorable French and Italian restaurants, beautiful boats, and a stunning beach. It’s amazing!

The resort borders the Caribbean Sea so you’ll find crystal clear water and soft, golden sand. The best part? The sunsets over the water are magical! It’s the perfect location for your destination wedding!

You can fly directly into La Romana International Airport. It is a small local airport only about 20 minutes from the resort. Or you can fly to Punta Cana International Airport. Here you’ll likely get better deals and will have more flight options.

I’d also recommend a visit to Catalina or Saona Island during your trip, which are both a quick boat ride away. Or book a honeymoon photoshoot to the fairytale location of Altos de Chavon. You won’t regret it!

Hilton La Romana

The resort is split into two so you can decide if you want an adults-only vacation or if you prefer a family-friendly atmosphere instead. If you go the adults-only route, you’ll have access to exclusive bars, restaurants, and pools.

On the other hand, if you choose the family side, there’s a kids club, teens club, and even a water park! Either way, there are plenty of activities for all ages. You’re sure to have an amazing vacation at Hilton La Romana!

There are 4 a la carte restaurants (and they don’t require reservations), a tasty all-you-can-eat buffet, and eight bars to choose from.

The rooms are nice and clean, but you might find that some are a little outdated, specifically in terms of decoration and patterns on the rugs, curtains, couches, etc. The rooms have really amazing light to take getting ready photos as well as interesting textures, which is all a good wedding photographer really needs.

Speaking of wedding photography, let’s talk about weddings at this beautiful all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic.

Weddings at Hilton La Romana

La Romana is a lot less crowded than Punta Cana which is one of the main reasons we enjoy shooting any type of wedding at the Hilton. It’s much more secluded and intimate which also means there will be fewer people in the background of your wedding photos. And we always love that!

The gazebos are wonderful for this, too, since they back up to the rocky coral shore, but sometimes the beach is all you need. Keep in mind, the beach area is limited at this resort, so it’s best for small, intimate weddings with only your closest family and friends. If you’re having a bigger wedding, you’ll be better off in one of the gazebos as you’ll have more space.

After the ceremony, there are tons of beautiful places to take your family portraits and do a couple’s photo session before your reception.

And don’t forget about that beautiful sunset that will be in the background. Want to see what I’m talking about? Let me show you a real wedding!

Jenna & Taylor’s Wedding at Hilton La Romana

These two lovebirds are high school sweethearts! They’ve been together for 10 years, and although they’d never been to the Dominican Republic before, they knew they wanted to get married in a warm, beach destination. And they made a great choice!

They celebrated their union with about 40 of their closest friends and family, dancing the night away under the stars. Take a look at some of their wedding photos down below.
