Some wedding themes are easy to recognize the moment you see the first photograph. Robyn and Jeremy’s late April wedding at Finest Punta Cana was one of them and it was definitely a “nice day for a white wedding”! Robyn and Jeremy travelled from Houston, Texas for their Punta Cana wedding, bringing their family and friends along for a beachside celebration that was as much about being together as it was about saying “I do.”

The bride, groom, wedding party and all 60 guests arrived dressed in shades of white creating an incredibly beautiful look against the pale sand, wooden ceremony deck and the blues of the Caribbean ocean and sky. With natural beige and blush toned flowers adding a little contrast, the whole celebration felt elegant, relaxed and completely at home in its tropical surroundings.

Our four hour photography coverage began with Robyn getting ready in her bridal suite before following the couple through their beach ceremony and portraits with their guests. Getting Ready

Robyn spent part of the afternoon getting ready in her bridal suite with her mother by her side. Her wedding look was classic bridal beauty with some gorgeous details. Her gown featured an elegant silhouette and a long flowing train, complimented with detached sleeves and a long veil to complete the look.

Robyn shared a special first look with her bridesmaids and then another extra special one with her father and her children before they led her down the aisle. With four bridesmaids, four groomsmen and a guest list of around 60 people, there was a wonderful sense of family surrounding the wedding. One of the things that immediately stood out was how beautifully the white dress code worked with the setting. Rather than trying to compete with the colours of the Caribbean, the wedding party became part of the scenery with the ocean, sand and tropical greenery providing all the colour needed!

An All-White Beach Ceremony

The beachside ceremony space was set on a wooden deck with a simple wooden pergola creating a natural focal point. Neutral and blush toned arrangements decorated the structure and lined the aisle. Robyn’s bouquet of white roses gave her bridal look a classic finishing touch.

And then there was the dress code. Every single person was dressed in white. The groom, the bridal party, family members and guests all became part of the same beautifully coordinated scene. The effect was striking against the natural wood and soft blue Caribbean water, without feeling overly formal. The ceremony itself was symbolic and was officiated by a couple who have known Robyn and Jeremy for many years. Having people who have shared part of their story with them lead the ceremony added a particularly personal touch to the celebration.

After exchanging their own vows, Robyn and Jeremy also shared special vows with their children as they blend their families, making this moment about more than just the two of them. It was a chance to recognize the family they have created together and the people who are such an important part of their lives. With the ocean stretching behind them and their closest people gathered around, it was a beautiful way to make the ceremony personal.

Family, Friends and Beach Portraits

Once the ceremony was finished, we stayed on the beach for photographs with the people who had come all the way to Punta Cana to celebrate with them. There were group photos, family portraits, wedding party photos and plenty of combinations of guests with the newlyweds! Then Robyn and Jeremy had some time for newlywed photos, just the two of them enjoying the moment. The beach provided a gorgeous natural backdrop, from the ceremony deck to the shoreline with palms swaying all around. Robyn’s long train was especially beautiful against the sand, while the simple styling of the day kept the attention on the couple and the setting.

Because our coverage was limited to four hours, we weren’t there for the evening reception itself, but there’s one thing we did get to see as we were wrapping up that was too good not to mention. While the newlyweds and their guests were enjoying cocktail hour, the resort team completely transformed the ceremony space. The chairs were removed, the beachside palapa came down and the wooden deck was quickly turned into an evening reception area. Dinner tables, a buffet, lighting, a DJ and a dance floor appeared where the ceremony had been only a short time earlier. It’s always fun to see the behind-the-scenes transformation of a wedding space, especially when it happens right in front of you!
