Have you been thinking about getting married in the Dominican Republic but you’re not quite sure if the all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana are right for you? Maybe you want something a little more intimate. Or a unique experience unlike any other. Well, then you may want to consider a Flor de Cabrera wedding instead.

Never heard of it? Don’t worry! I’ve got you covered. Let’s dive in to find out more about this stunning private villa and then I’ll show you Aileen and Edwin’s romantic wedding.

Where is Cabrera?

Cabrera is a little tiny town on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. It’s located in between Las Terrenas and Puerto Plata.

It’s about 3 hours driving from the capital city, Santo Domingo, and 4 ½ hours from Punta Cana.

Unlike Punta Cana, however, Cabrera is not known for its tourism. It’s definitely not a resort town either. But that shouldn’t deter you from traveling here!

You’ll experience pristine beaches and a rural community unlike any other. Cabrera is a gorgeous place with amazing opportunities for your destination wedding. Let’s take a look at one venue option down below.

Flor de Cabrera Luxury Villa

So you know where you’re going in the Dominican Republic, but do you know anything about the actual villa?

Let me explain:

Flor de Cabrera is a gorgeous beachfront villa with some of the most amazing views I’ve ever seen! From the moment you walk through the doors and see the pool overlooking all the palm trees and the ocean, you’ll know that you’ve arrived in paradise.

The villa is located within the gated community of Orchid Bay Estates which houses some of the most beautiful villas in the Dominican Republic.

It has 10 bedrooms and can sleep up to 24 guests.

The best part?

Flor de Cabrera is completely private! That means it’s just you and your guests for the entire wedding week. Plus, the beach is private too so you won’t have to worry about strangers passing by or looking in on your wedding ceremony.

Not only that, but you’ll also have a private concierge, butler, executive chef, gardeners, maids, and last but certainly not least, an in-house masseuse. For your entire stay. It’s time to let all your worries melt away!

All your hard work has paid off and you can finally enjoy your destination wedding alongside your closest family and friends.

How do you get to Cabrera?

There are a few different options. I’ll list them here in order of most to least recommended.

  1. Fly into Las Americas International Airport in Santo Domingo (SDQ) and drive from there. You’ll only have about a 2.5-hour drive to Flor de Cabrera.
  2. Fly into Gregorio Luperon Airport in Puerto Plata (POP). It’s about the same distance (2.5 hours), but it’s a smaller airport than SDQ and flights are usually more expensive.
  3. Fly into El Catey International Airport in Samana (AZS). This is the closest airport as it’s only about an hour away from Flor de Cabrera, but it’s a very tiny airport that doesn’t offer the same amenities as the others.

Don’t stress too much about getting to the villa for your wedding. You’ll be paired with an amazing wedding planner who will help you plan out every detail for a truly seamless experience for you and all of your guests.

Flor de Cabrera Wedding Experience

So let’s talk a little bit more about weddings at Flor de Cabrera before I show you Aileen and Edwin’s wedding photos.

In terms of photography, this place is perfect. Beautiful bedrooms for your getting ready photos, lots of natural light throughout the villa, the stunning pool and gardens, the private beach, and a million different locations to take portraits. We’re in love!

You’ll have delicious food for your wedding menu (well, throughout your stay actually) and even tastier cocktails. They have an extensive list of menu items to choose from, including the hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and wedding cake options. Oh, and did I mention the late-night taco bar? Pretty sweet, right?

Plus, you’ll be paired with the always-amazing wedding planner, Wilvia. She will help you plan your dream Flor de Cabera wedding and will take care of every little detail for you along the way.

Honestly, I’m blown away every time I see her work. Her decorating skills are top-notch! All of our brides deserve this level of attention throughout the wedding process!

Now let’s check out a real wedding so you can see exactly what I’m talking about.

Real Wedding at Flor de Cabrera – Aileen & Edwin

It’s not hard to fall in love with this wedding venue. When you see Aileen and Edwin’s photos, you’ll understand. This place is amazing! And when you have a wonderful couple like this one, it makes it look even better.

They did things a little differently than most of our couples and had their wedding ceremony by the pool instead of right on the beach. They had an amazing view overlooking the water that looked stunning in all of their photos! It’s hard to imagine a prettier scene than this.

Now, don’t worry… We still got beautiful photos on the beach. After the ceremony, we headed down to the sand for the family and couple’s session. Then, it was right back up to the villa to celebrate their reception.

You won’t want to miss the groom and groomsmen’s coordinated dance in the pool. By the end of the night, everyone jumped in Take a look at the photos down below.
