It’s summertime in Punta Cana and love is on the brain. Wedding season is in full swing, and although that alone keeps us quite busy, we jump at the chance to shoot a surprise engagement at Macao Beach. We’ve had so many surprise engagements this summer and we’re absolutely loving it!!! I mean who doesn’t want to witness a proposal? To witness pure happiness. Pure joy. Bliss.
To be able to capture the raw emotion that comes from a surprise of this magnitude is something we’ll never get over. We could shoot 5,000 surprise engagements and each one would be unique. And that’s why we love what we do!
Emin’s surprise engagement at Macao Beach was something we’ll remember forever. And so will Alexis, the new bride-to-be.
Photoshoots at Macao Beach
Macao Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Punta Cana! And it’s one of the only public beaches we have left… Although, they are currently building a new resort right on its shores, so we’ll see if it stays public for long. I’m crossing my fingers that it does because this is one of our favorite spots for photoshoots (and one of my favorite places to spend Sunday mornings).
Macao Beach is a 20-minute drive from most of the resorts in Bavaro, and it’s definitely worth the drive! Not only is the beach absolutely beautiful for a photoshoot, but it’s also a great spot to have a typical Dominican lunch and to learn how to surf. The fried fish they serve here is the best I’ve had on the whole island!! I think my stomach growled just thinking about it.
We love the versatility that Macao Beach offers for photoshoots. Turquoise water, lush green palms, driftwood fences, this place has it all. Just take a look at some of our favorite photoshoots to see how beautiful Macao Beach is. You’ll want to hop on a plane and get here as soon as possible. But don’t leave quite yet! You can’t miss this surprise proposal!
Emin Proposes to Alexis at Macao Beach
Emin and Alexis were a joy to be around! They’re both from Canada and are just as polite as you’d imagine. Most of the guys we bring on surprise engagement photoshoots are visually nervous (sweating, fidgeting, stuttering, the whole nine) but this wasn’t the case with Emin! He was calm and patient, just waiting for the right moment. And when that moment came, he embraced every second. He bent down on one day, declared his unwavering love for Alexis, and popped the ultimate question: “Will you marry me?”
Alexis was completely shocked! But she said YES!
