Accommodations at Royalton Bavaro
Alright, let’s be honest… You’re on vacation in the Caribbean, so you’re not going to be spending too much time in your room. But when you’re there, you want to relax. To feel comfortable, right? And what better way to feel comfortable than with a rain shower to rinse off all that sand, a DreamBed™ to sleep perfectly every night of your trip, and a fully stocked minibar. And yes, it’s all-inclusive so you can actually eat and drink everything in there. Or order room service whenever you’re too tired (or hungover) to make it down to the buffet. Sounds pretty great, right?
The suites are really nice, spacious, and modern. They all have a jacuzzi right in the room. And the housekeeping staff does an excellent job of keeping the rooms clean, which is always important. The bathrooms are amazing too! Very clean and spacious. Some even have a double showerhead so you and your new hubby can shower together – and each control your ideal temperature.
Rooms on the first floor are swim-up, so definitely spring for that if you get a chance! Because really… Who wouldn’t want to be steps from the pool?
But again… you’re not going to spend too much time in the room, right? So let’s check out the other amenities of the hotel.
Restaurants & Bars
With six restaurants, a sports bar, and a gelato cafe, you’ll be able to indulge all of your senses! Whether you prefer the buffet or a sit-down dinner, you’ll find something delicious for the whole family. Definitely check out the Italian restaurant, Grazie, and the Asian restaurant, Zen (with a reservation). They both have great food and excellent service. The food in the buffet is just as good, and you’ll find something to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters!
Celebrating a special occasion? Check out the Chef’s Table for a C/X Culinary Experience. It costs a little extra, but it’s definitely worth it considering the personal chef takes you through an entire 7-course meal, set to specific music to enhance the taste and experience. Sounds pretty cool, right? Definitely check it out if you can afford to splurge a bit.
When it comes to the bars, we all know you’ll be taking advantage of that all-inclusive package! Royalton Bavaro has 8 signature bars so you can enjoy ice-cold refreshments (like those passionfruit mojitos or pina coladas) throughout your trip. Grab a drink and head to the theater for some traditional Caribbean entertainment. Or try your luck at the Genesis Casino playing slots, roulette, and blackjack.
The Royal Spa
If you’re looking for a more relaxing vacation. in Punta Cana, be sure to stop by the Royal Spa! Pamper yourself with a facial, a thermal massage, and a mani/pedi so you can look and feel your absolute best before returning back home. Or if you really want to indulge go for the full hydrotherapy circuit. The specific water treatments using steam, buoyancy, and heat will have you feeling absolutely amazing! Welcome to paradise!
Is Royalton Bavaro Family Friendly?
Yes! Royalton Bavaro is great for families! There are so many activities to keep everyone entertained throughout your vacation.

Kids Club
The Clubhouse Kids Club is perfect for kids age 4 to 12. All of the staff are super friendly and caring! You’ll feel completely confident leaving your kids there as you go explore the resort for some precious adult time. And the kids will love it!

Downsides to Royalton Bavaro
- The sales staff can be pretty pushy. This is true for most resorts, but you should be aware of this before booking. You’ll likely be asked multiple times to attend a sales meeting or “Welcome Briefing.” If you say yes, expect to spend a few hours with them. And if you say no, they’ll keep asking, over and over again. Be patient and understanding with them. And try to keep in mind that the sales staff are people too – and they’re really just trying to make a living and support their families.
- There are a lot of families with small children. If you’re looking to get rowdy and have a party vacation, you may get some funny looks or complaints from other hotel guests.
- None of the a la carte restaurants (except Zen) take reservations, but you can make reservations as a Diamond Club member. Since guests tend to arrive to dinner at the same time, you may experience longer wait times (sometimes upwards of 1-1.5 hours) for a la carte restaurants. If you don’t like to wait, stick with Zen or the buffet instead.
- The resort is large and not very accessible to people with walking/mobility disabilities. There are a lot of stairs and most of the ramps do not have handrails.
Now that you know the good and the bad about Royalton Bavaro, let’s check out the wedding scene at Royalton Bavaro and see if this is the place to say I Do!
Weddings at Royalton Bavaro
Who doesn’t love a beautiful beach wedding?! Say your vows on the sandy shores with the gorgeous turquoise water creating the perfect backdrop to all of your wedding photos. Or if you’d like to be on the beach, but you don’t want to be right in the sand, the Beach Gazebo is a great option! The gazebo is covered so you can stay out of the sun, and there’s hard flooring so you can wear heels!
Looking for a more unique option? Head to the Sky Terrace for your wedding ceremony instead.
Sky Terrace at Royalton Bavaro
The Sky Terrace is absolutely beautiful for a destination wedding! It’s completely private so you won’t need to worry about any other hotel guests lurking around as you say I Do. There’s a partially covered roof to give you some shade during the ceremony, and the sides are open so you’ll have a gorgeous view of the ocean the whole time. Plus you’ll get that nice warm breeze coming in. There’s a private bar for you and your guests, and a separate bathroom. You can use the space for your ceremony, cocktail, or reception – the only downside is there is an additional fee. (But it’s totally worth it because the space is gorgeous!)
Stay at Royalton Bavaro for your Off-Resort Wedding
Resort weddings aren’t for everyone. If you prefer a more private experience, then an off-resort wedding is probably better for you. Kukua Beach Club is about 10 minutes driving from Royalton Bavaro (about 15 minutes walking on the beach). While Huracan Cafe and Jellyfish Restaurant are about 25 minutes away. All three are amazing when it comes to destination weddings! Plus they offer a shuttle service to and from the resort on your wedding day!
